February is traditionally the month that Cub Socuts (and boy scouts too!) celebrate the birth of Scouting. And the months’ festivities always culminate with the Blue & Gold Banquet. The Blue & Gold is the opportunity for all of the scouts, immediate family, extended family, and honored guests to get together to celebrate everything we have completed on the scouting trail, and to join in celebration of everything scouting has to offer.
Our B&G this year was the biggest yet. We had over 80 people attend the event, and I would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Silver Lake Church, Pris and all of the other happy cookers that made this years event such a success.

On Jan. 1, 2010, a new century begins for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), and with it comes an invitation to the nation to experience Scouting like never before.
This is an incredibly exciting and important time for our organization, said Bob Mazzuca, Chief Scout Executive of the BSA. The methods of Scouting continue to evolve to reach the current and future generations, but the Scouting message is the same as it was a century ago. We invite Scouts, alumni, volunteers, and the public to join in our celebration throughout the country over the next year. We are excited about what the future holds, and invite America to continue to be a part of the journey."
